Annette Boerlage an aquatic epidemiologist who uses statistical and mathematical models to get insight into the interactions between environment, host and pathogen in aquaculture systems, with the goal to deliver evidence-based information that can improve health management, mitigate disease and mortality, and improve sustainability of the aquaculture sector. She focusses on salmon gill health and is involved in research projects ranging from improving gill diagnostics using AI to developing salmon challenge models for micro jellyfish. Other research topics include modelling salmon mortality and health management of tilapia.
