Don has a lifetime of experience in the marine industries sector, before joining AKVAgroup in 2019, Don was with the Aquaculture Innovation centre SAIC for 4 years and before that Highlands and Islands Enterprise where he worked in biosciences economic development and was an Observer on the board at IBioIC. Prior to that Don, worked as a marine consultant promoting the development of fish farms and environmental monitoring, as well as working as a supplier to the sector with AKVA and Aquasmart- utilising AQ1 robots to feed fish 30 years ago. Don has a degree in Marine Biology (hons) from University of Glasgow, and prior to this had a 10y career as an navigation officer transiting the world ocean, on very large ships.
